RFDS Goodie Bags are on there way!

Apologies for the long wait kids,  they are on the way.

The photobook is in the design process and will go to the publisher soon, they still won’t be available till mid to late Oct though. I will try my best to get them out sooner.

The great news is the photobooks will be available online so you can invite your family and friends from all over the world to purchase and you can pick up any extra copies for yourself without

too much trouble.

Again thanks to all the mums, dad, grandparents, carers who supported our project and got involved, we really appreciate it:)

The My Lifes Moments campaign and website was created to unite people in answering the one question of :

“Why do you have  your families photos captured?”

You can visit www.mylifesmoments.com for some of the responses that have been received. Whether you are a client of ours, or have never been to our studio, we want to hear from you. We as photographers know why we do what we do, and we all have our reasons. But we want to know what photos mean to YOU. What is your desired legacy or what do you know of your families history. Whether we are capturing a newborn, a giggling toddler, each moment is unique and it is a moment in time that can never be recovered. If we as photographers have this privilege of this great honor to share that moment, we would like to know how, seeing these photos – impacted you and or your family.

We will be collecting responses and creating a coffee table book titled In The Moments by Brag! for our studio as our part of history. We would love for you to ponder this question and respond, whether via email info@bragaustralia.com.au or through our facebook page , or even a handwritten letter to Brag! PO Box 4186 Mandurah North WA 6210– we want to hear from you.

This program was started by a photographer – Anamaria Brandt, located in Orange County California. Her thoughts and response is as follows:

“In Summer of 2007, as I was preparing to help inspire and educate photographers on working with pregnant woman and newborns, I realized that I wanted to hear from my clients why they had their photos taken. We as photographers strive to truly capture the moments that our clients live every day. This is not always easy to do, but when it’s done and it’s done right, it can spark a slew of emotions – to not only the client but the photographer as well. So I sent a call out to everyone I knew and asked one question, “Why did you have photographs taken?” The responses were overwhelming and came flooding in. I, as an adopted child have no photos of my biological family, no photos of my early childhood, nothing to reflect on. As I watch my little ones grow I wonder – did I have chubby cheeks? What was my hair like? These are answers I may never have, but I know for sure my children will, and that is enough for me.”

Home Sweet Home!

I’m the first to tell you ” I love being on the road” must be that gypsy blood in me, however it is nice to come home and sleep in your own bed. We nearly slept in the car in Port Hedland coming back from Broome as there was no accommodation anywhere! Luckily our great sponsors at The Esplanade come to the rescue and we had a great night sleep before hitting the road again in search of Little Faces in our NorthWest.

We stopped at Meekatharra on the way to Newman to check out The RFDS base there, wow being Easter Monday we didn’t think anyone would be there, but Ian was and came out to greet us and invited us to look at one of the planes. It was so exciting to see the plane and to learn it was flying all night and was getting ready to take off again that afternoon. They are busy busy, you just don’t realise. We actually got to climb into the plane, it’s so small inside. Well this inspired Lysh and I too move onto Newman and register some more Little Faces for our photobook!

From Newman we went further north to Broome, wow Broome is so beautiful this time of year after the wet season, I just love it there, it reminds me alot of Byron Bay, years and years ago before everyone found out about it!

From Broome we headed back south to Geraldton, and it was cold! What the! We caught up with alot of our loyal clients and it is so great to see the kids growing up! I had to rush home as my youngest boy was not well, so Lysh stuck it out and our local BragStar Luana helped her out, i missed catching up with our favorite little face “Mary Jane”!

Now with the NorthWest complete we will be starting our search in the SouthWest.

Here’s some pics from the road, cows, emus and all! Saw one alive Kangaroo the whole trip! Keep an eye on this space as i’m going to start putting some of our “Lil Faces” up shortly.

Happy Easter Everyone and The Brag! Roadshow is about to hit the road again

Hoppy Hoppy Easter, can you believe it’s choccy time already?

Well we are just about ready to hit the road again, in our search far and wide for Little Faces in Faraway Places. We had a blast in Karratha. Hedland and Carnarvon and captured lots of  ’lil faces’ for the photobook.

Some pics from the road – Captain Koala and Captain Kangaroo took front seats and kept us safe on our travels.

The Royal Flying Doctor have excellent pilots who land planes in the most unbelievable places, this is one of their landing strips between Karratha and Carnarvon on the North West Highway.

I didn’t notice the water bottle littering the side of the road or i would have picked it up! Oh and that’s our Brag Hummer, be sure to watch out for us on the road and give us a toot or a wave. Safe travels for the Easter break and the school holidays everyone
